Telegram for Mac — Apple Silicon & Intel
The Telegram for Mac app is written in Swift and optimized for both M-series and Intel processors. It feels at home on macOS with sidebars, native notifications, split view and Continuity features between your Mac and iPhone.

Why Telegram for Mac feels different from the browser
The macOS client uses the same design language as native Apple apps: rounded windows, translucency, native context menus and Retina-ready assets. On M-series chips it barely uses any resources, and you can leave it running for weeks without a reboot.
- Universal binary — runs natively on M1/M2/M3/M4 and Intel
- Deep macOS notifications with Focus and DND support
- Multiple accounts side by side, no window switching
- Full keyboard-driven navigation, including AppleScript
- Touch Bar quick actions on supported MacBooks
- Continuity: send from Mac, read on iPhone seamlessly

Updating Telegram on Mac
Telegram for Mac checks for new versions automatically. If you installed from the App Store, updates arrive through the App Store app. If you use the .dmg build, the app downloads updates in the background and asks you to relaunch. You can always reopen this page and grab a fresh installer if something goes wrong.
Safety notes for Mac users
- • Enable two-step verification and Face ID / Touch ID unlock in Privacy & Security.
- • Only install Telegram from the official Mac page or the App Store; be wary of third-party "beta" builds.
- • Review Active Sessions from your phone after using Telegram on a shared MacBook.
- • Consider a strong login password on macOS itself so nobody can open your Telegram app while you are away.
