Install Telegram on Android in five steps

Fix late notifications on Android

If Telegram notifications arrive late on your Android phone, most of the time it's the battery optimizer stopping the app in the background. Open Settings → Apps → Telegram → Battery, choose Unrestricted, and disable any manufacturer-specific "cleaner" that force-stops apps. If you use the APK build, make sure background data is allowed for the mobile network as well.

  • • Enable two-step verification and set a passcode + fingerprint lock in Telegram Privacy settings.
